Marriage may be a two-way street, but that doesn’t mean you should travel in opposite directions. Experts know what steers good marriages; here are some couple-strengthening tips:
1. Talk, but don’t talk back. Tell your partner how you feel and what you need. When you’re the listener, don’t criticize, debate, dismiss or problem0solve. Recognize your partner’s concerns are as important as yours.
2. Be optimistic. Keep your comments positive – even when discussing problems – and make the effort to remember and appreciate the good in your relationship.
3. Learn to leave an argument before it’s out of control. Tactics include cracking a joke, showing appreciation and backing down.
4. Share your dreams. And find a way to help your spouse realize his or hers.
5. Be flexible. When your spouse asks you to be accommodating, try.
6. Go on a date. Couples need time as twosomes, to reconnect.

Sometimes, bloghopping gets you to interesting sites, and the not-so-interesting ones.
While I was doing my ‘rounds’ last night, I chanced upon this blog that speaks about things related to environment and health, just like Only in Silence. What’s more interesting is that it has this little oracle thing and everyone can ask a question and get a wise answer. Of course, I tried it! And here is the result:
(present) 61. Chung Fu - Inner Truth
(future) 42. I - IncreaseWhat does the Oracle hold for you?

I just don’t know if that was the right way to ask, but I got my answer! So, what does the Oracle hold for you? Click that link to find out.
I am including this blog to the category ‘fun games, quizzes, puzzles & more’ so it will be easy for you to find it again here. Things like this can be addicting, right?
But remember, trust God in everything and you will find success and true happiness. Keep on praying.
Please follow the steps below and you will find out why.
Put your hands together like this on the picture below:

Try to separate your thumbs. The thumbs represent our parents. They can be separated because all humans go through sickness and death, which means our parents will leave us one day.
Please close your thumbs together again, then open your second fingers. These fingers represent our brothers and sisters. They will have their own family, which is why they will leave us too someday.
Now close your second fingers again, then separate your little fingers. These represent your children. Sooner or later, they too will leave us for they have their own lives to live.
Now put them together again and try to separate your fourth fingers in which we put our wedding rings on. You will be surprised to find that it cannot be separated at all. This is because they represent husbands and wives. In your whole lives, you will be attached to each other. Real love will stick together forever and ever.
Remember:
Thumbs represent parents
Second fingers represent brothers & sisters
Middle fingers represent own self
Fourth fingers represent your partner
Small fingers represent your children
Q: I’ve heard that cardiovascular exercise can prolong life. Is this true?
A: Your heart is only good for so many beats, and that’s it…don’t waste them on exercise. Everything wears out eventually. Speeding up your heart will not make you live longer; that’s like saying you can extend the life of your car by driving it faster. Want to live longer? Take a nap.
Q: Should I cut low on meat and eat more fruits and vegetables?
A: You must grasp logistical efficiencies. What does a cow eat? Hay and corn. And what are these? Vegetables. So a steak is nothing more than an efficient mechanism of delivering vegetables into your system. Need grain? Eat chicken. Beef is also a good source of field grass (green leafy vegetable). And a pork chop can give you 100% of your recommended daily allowance of vegetable products.
Q: Should I reduce my alcohol intake?
A: No, not at all. Wine is made from fruit. Brandy is distilled wine, that means they take the water out of the fruity bit so you get even more of the goodness that way. Beer is also made out of grain. Bottoms up!
Q: How can I calculate my body/fat ratio?
A: Well, if you have a body and you have a body fat, your ratio is one to one. If you have two bodies, your ratio is two to one, etc.
Q: What are some of the advantages of participating in a regular exercise program?
A: Can’t think of a single one, sorry. My philosophy is: No Pain…Good.
Q: Aren’t fried foods bad for you?
A: YOU’RE NOT LISTENING!!! Foods are fried these days in vegetable oil. In fact, they’re permeated in it. How could getting more vegetables be bad for you?
Q: Will sit-ups help prevent me from getting a little soft around the middle?
A: Definitely not! When you exercise a muscle, it gets bigger. You should only be doing sit-ups if you want a bigger stomach.
Q: Is chocolate bad for me?
A: Are you crazy? HELLO…Cocobeans…another vegetable!!! It’s the best feel-good food around!
Q: Is swimming good for your figure?
A: If swimming is good for your figure, explain whales to me.
Q: Is getting in-shape important for my lifestyle?
A: Hey! ‘Round’ is a shape!
Well, I hope this cleared up any misconceptions you may have. Enjoy food, enjoy life and say “WHAT A RIDE!’
This would give you guides on how to control your emotions towards your better-half, friends, officemates and all the people around you, especially your ‘boss’. The rules of practicing “ugaling langit, ugaling kaaya-aya” :
#1 Ang naunang magalit ang may karapatang magalit. Pag naunahan ka na ng galit niya, tumahimik ka na lang muna.
#2 Walang taong nag-aaway mag-isa. Pag hindi kayo sumagot o pumatol, titigil din daw ang taong nakikipag-away sa inyo.
#3 Ang taong galit, ‘bingi.’ If someone is angry, wala raw pinakikinggan, so, don’t try to explain and fight back. Hindi ka niya iintindihin dahil wala siyang naririnig kundi ang sarili nya.
#4 Ang taong galit, ‘abnoy.’ Ayon sa pastor, Biblical daw ito? Because the Lord said when He was crucified, ‘Father, patawarin mo sila dahil hindi nila alam ang kanilang ginagawa.’ Modern term for these kinds of people are abnoys, so you better not get angry para huwag kang matawag na abnoy.
You should also know and realize that the persons who make your day bad are jewel, because you need them for you to mature. Hangga’t andyan daw sila at kinaiinisan mo, ibig sabihin, immature ka pa. God will not take away those people; it’s for you to take away your bad feelings towards them. You’ll know na mature ka na pag dumating ‘yung time na hindi ka na naiinis sa mga taong ito because you have learned to accept them and to have patience with them.
#5 Finally, the best part of this is to tell yourself na, because of this person, ‘I will grow mature,’ and that DAHIL SA CONTRIBUTION NIYA SA MATURITY MO, KUKUNIN DIN SYA NI LORD.
Everyone’s out for swimming!!!!!

That’s it for now, people!

Hey there, people. In a few hours, Dario, Jeff and I will be off to Bataan, Dario’s hometown. We might be staying there for three weeks and go back to Manila by last week of May. I am done preparing the things we are bringing. Also, Dario and I finished the bigger things that need to be done – we enrolled our son for 5th grade, we installed the new computer printer, my husband’s done arranging the TV and the home theater system (sorry, no photo; but I‘m posting one soon), and our room has been re-arranged a bit too.
Jeff is so excited about getting to Bataan this afternoon. He’s looking forward to playing with his cousins there. He already put his Play Station in the box, as well as the game CDs they’ll be playing. That’s three weeks of great time for him. Our son really likes it there, no doubt. But don’t worry, guys. I’m not leaving you with this as the last post. I’ll still be in touch with all of you. Plus, I have prepared some funny stuff for you for the weekends to come. So please stay around.
Now I’m ending this post with a link to this weight-loss blog for my readers who are into fitness. This also reminds me that it’s been a while since I last posted a health-related story/news. I’ll keep up. Promise.
Bye for now, people!
Watch out, Beijing Olympics!
