I really enjoy bloghopping. Any one of you remembers my post about the benefits of bloghopping? I like seeing the works of some bloggers who are into scrapbooking, blog template making, cooking, photography and crafts. I’m not a gifted child like them. And my only talent is to admire these people and drool over their arts. And just by looking at their wonderful works, I can see how much love they put in what they do. No, I don’t sew, nor do I cook. I don’t wear jewelry, make up and perfume, much more make one. And if only I were as talented as they are, then I would have made my own template . . . . .

This is how sites like Digg, Stumble Upon, Blogsvine and the likes help bloggers. They connect other bloggers to you and you to them. The problem is, sometimes, people comment on the posts or links you put in those sites, not on your blog itself. Who goes to check if they have new comments in there, anyway? But that’s a different story . . . . .

I’m not a big Entrecard fan but it definitely opened up more doors for me. I’m currently using it when bloghopping. I drop cards and get to read other blogs as well. (So who says you can’t do two things at the same time? ;) ). And while sitting in my oh so awesome chair, I get to travel from here to other places in Metro Manila to other parts of the Philippines, to the US, India, UK, Malaysia and many other countries and meet some nice people along the way. What a fun ride!

But the thing is, no matter how fun the traveling is, I still come across some obstacles. Like this one:

It pops out when I get to some sites and I don’t know why. This keeps me from going back to their blogs and read.  What pisses me more off is that sometimes it pops out when I’m in the middle of reading something, while sometimes it shows 5seconds or less after clicking a link.  Do you ever experience this?  And have you done something about it yet?

… I don’t recall having this error message when I’m bloghopping … very strange, not something I would expect to see on FF! Hopefully someone else can help you out!

I think that’s happened to me before… But I can’t remember what caused it. Anyway, I’ve switched to Opera because Firefox was such a system hog :(

Had that kind of experience before. I didn’t know what cause FF to crash and just *BOOM* Sigh. Been using Google Chrome for a week plus. It’s better. At least when one site crash, it will close that tab only instead of the whole window.

Lynne, Fatima & Wiehanne - Thanks for the info. I’ve been experiencing this for, I think, almost a month now. And you’re right, Wiehanne, the whole window closes when this happens. I never had this problem with Firefox before and I don’t know what causes this. So you think switching browser really helps? ;)

It happens to me especially when the site has so many widgets. To many plugins often causes this problem. When your system slows down, this causes your browser to crash. Maybe it’s time to upgrade your memory or even your video card. My PC is quite old so I use my daughters newer PC when I do my drops, that is if she is not using it.

That used to happen to me several times a day. Now I use Opera. Firefox is just too bloated now.

It’s happened to me a lot while blog hopping with Firefox, especially after switching to Firefox 3. It’s very annoying. I may have to switch browsers, like some of your other commenters have.

Joel - I think I should also consider upgrading. My computer is turning 4 years old on December. Thanks for your advice ;)

Mrs. Mecomber - Thanks so much. I checked out my stats just this morning and found out that a number of my visitors use Opera. I guess I just have to try and see what happens ;)

Beth - Yes, this started post-Firefox3. Now I got two options - one is to switch browser and two is to upgrade like what Joel said. But what I can do for now is to try other browsers. I’ll wait for my husband to get home next year for the upgrade part ;)

This happens to me on occasion with Flock which is based on FF. I believe it is a memory issue and depends on how many tabs and programs you have. Do you have a lot of tabs and/or programs open when you are blog hopping? This could be the cause.

No, Patty. Sometimes, there’s only one tab open and then puff the magic message! And it happens to some particular sites or blogs. that’s why I can’t go back to them anymore ;)
