Others feast . . . . .

While others can’t . . . . .

Whatever you insist on and what life seems to shove on your face are two different things.

Hi,

This is just terrible. It gives us something to think about whenever we see western citizens making contests on whom can eat more hot dogs in 30 minutes *nodding*…

And it is also a reminder to African leaders on the lousy job they are doing!
And finally a message to humanity: we should all be ashamed of ourselves!

Cheers

You’re right, Max. Just like what I posted here: http://onlyinsilence.blogspot.com/2008/10/october-16-is-world-food-day.html

Sometimes I think when I see such contests, ‘Is it really necessary?’ ;)

This is always disturbing to see, unfortunately I fear that in the current climate in the developed world financial help for these people is not going to be so forthcoming.

I do hope I am wrong.

Oh dear God.

The second and third photos -oh dear God!

Thank you for shocking me out of my complacency. I will be sponsoring a child tomorrow because of these pictures.

I am horrified to imagine the life that those poor bodies have known.

I am horrified that I have become so numbe to images like the first it takes the second and third image to get through.

I will post back my sponship details when I have them.

Anyone care to join me?

Greg - I understand what you mean - with the financial crisis and all that’s happening now. But I still believe there’s always a way ;)

Robyn - You have a good heart ;)

This is just tragic, and puts things into perspective, sure people stress about being in debt and not paying bills, but seeing that kids are suffering like this is saddening beyond belief.

DB - A lot of us complain, but these people have nothing and their complains are often never heard and just die with them :(

Vhiel - Thanks for the invite. I’ll check that one out ;)

Hey there, Robyn! Aside from the other things I’m doing, we’re planning to do that also with World Vision here in the Philippines. There are many organizations like this out there. So people, if you want to help, do so now. You just don’t know what this simple act would mean to someone ;)

It sad to see this kind of stuff happening in the world. But this is how life goes.

Yes, John. But it is more sad that people in some countries are still able to organize eating contests, when it is better to give those food to the more needy people like the ones in the photo. Don’t they realize that? ;)

hi belle,

my heart skipped when I saw the pics, it really is ironic , sometimes we throw foods uneaten and we tend to forget that there are hungry fellows out there. My heart cries with them.May each one of us begin helping in our own little way.
thanks belle, twas’ an eye opener.

Thank you too, Rona. It breaks my heart seeing such things in the news, and it breaks my heart more knowing that I myself don’t have an instant solution that works like magic for the situation.

Nice to see you here again, Rona ;)
