I hate SSS!

Two months before I resigned from my last work, I made sure that I get all the ID cards I need since I will be surrendering my company ID. This means I arranged everything from my SSS (replacement), TIN, Postal ID, etc. These are some of the IDs needed for bank and other important transactions. Aside from these ID cards, I also continued my PhilHealth, Pag-ibig and SSS contributions without fail, so when I get sick, the health insurance can take care of a part of the hospital bill, and when I reach retirement age or die, I get a little something out from SSS (Social Security System).

I was happy with the online inquiry service of SSS until I experienced what seems to be an endless problem with their website. It was down, if not too slow, most of the time. Then they had this new procedure where one should register first and create an account before he can do online contribution inquiry, etc.

Personally, I like the old thing more – type your last name, your birthday and your SSS number, press ‘submit’ then tada! All the information you need to know and see with regards to your membership are there.

That was the old process. The new one is, well, I can’t say if it’s better or what. I have registered and tried accessing my account successfully. To register, you need to fill up the online form and wait for the email with your password from them (you create your own username and they give you the PW which you can change afterwards). Once logged in, you need to log in again to access your membership account. In other words, you need to log in to log in. Funny, right?

After successfully fooling myself logging in and trying the not really impressive service, I tried registering my husband. He received the email that says,

‘We are sorry to inform you that you have not successfully registered in the SSS Website. Please call the SSS Hotline at (632) 920-6446 to 55 for assistance.’

A month later, we tried registering again – filled up the form and waited for their email. We received the same response!

So I decided to call those numbers to inquire but all of them are either busy or your call just can’t get through (I hear a fast busy tone). I tried calling the trunkline (9206401), but the lady kept insisting that I call those other numbers even I told her how hard it is to get through. And I’ve been dialing since yesterday!

Aaaarrrgghhh! How I hate SSS! Their web service sucks, and their phone service sucks more. Maybe that’s why it’s called the SSS Hotline. Your head will get hot when you call their line.  I just hope they find a website hosting service that works, and a bunch of people that works better.

sorry to hear tha. I am going to reactivate my sss account. but havent done it yet. reading your post makes me feel sorry for myself though.

Carmel - And I have to do what I don’t want to do - go to a branch near our place, fall in line and talk to an SSS personnel who is so cold and monotonous :roll:

I STRONGLY AGREE! I HATE SSS! THEIR NEW ADMINISTRATION AND POLICIES SUCKS!!!

good day to all concerned… my dad just filed for a retirement claim but was disapproved bcos of a mistake made on his birth year on my 8th sister filed as additional beneficiary.. my dad was born 1948 and was mistakenly noted 1949 instead.. SSS returned his docs and was told to submit an authenticated birth certificate. the problem was after my dad tried to get a copy from NSO. their office did not show any records which meant no birth certificate was submitted for registration. MY DAD WAS BORN IN AN ISLAND, both his parents were deceased. and docs like birth certs did not matter that much as it is now.. what my dad did is that he went to the province and request for the birth certificate.. found out it wasn’t filed for registration in NSO so they filed it for late registration. NSO afterwards, gave an authenticated copy of his birth certificate. my dad was very hopeful went back to the sss office to finally complete requirements asked and get his retirement claim JUST TO FIND OUT THAT SSS STILL CAN’T ACCEPT IT TO CORRECT AND GRANT RETIREMENT CLAIM ONLY BCOS IT WAS LATE REGISTERED.. IT JUST DOESN’T MAKE ANY SENSE!!.. WHAT’S THE USE OF GETTING IT AUTHENTICATED FROM NSO WHEN IT CAN’T BE ACCEPTED AS VALID BIRTH CERTIFICATE??!!…. I HOPE SSS WILL NOT MAKE IT HARD FOR THEIR MEMBERS TO GET THE BENEFITS WE’RE ENTITLED TOO! THE MEMBERS WORKED HARD FOR WHAT WAS PAID TO YOU IN WHICH YOU GUYS HAVE ALSO BENEFITED FROM. NOT ALL MEMBERS WERE BORN IN THE CITY AND COULD BE IN REMOTE PLACES.. THAT JUST FINALLY SETTLED IN THE CITY DECADES LATER ESPECIALLY THE OLD ONES.. PLEASE BE REASONABLE TO YOUR MEMBERS. MY DAD IS TURNING 61 NEXT YEAR AND SSS HAS BEEN TOO HARD TO HIM TO GET HIS RETIREMENT BENEFITS.. SSS OFFICE EVEN ASKED TO HAVE THE ORIGINAL BAPTISMAL CERTIFICATE SUBMITTED. MY DAD WAS BORN IN AN ISLAND IN SAMAR 60 YEARS AGO WHEN BAPTISMAL CERTS ARE JUST A PIECE OF PAPER AND HANDWRITING IN SPANISH.. WHICH HE NO LONGER HAVE BCOS HIS PARENTS WASN’T ABLE TO GIVE IT TO HIM… PLEASE BE REASONABLE. THE BIRTH CERTICATE THOUGH REGISTERED LATE SHOULD HAVE BEEN ENOUGH PROOF TO CORRECT BIRTH YEAR DISCREPANCY!! WHAT’S THE USE OF GETTING IT AUTHENTICATED IF IT CAN’T BE CONSIDERED VALID?!! mga taga SSS branch Antipolo and babagal mg trabaho,..

Im just want to call the attention of the SSS management, pagsabihan naman po nila ang mga staff ng Antipolo Branch.. pinababalik balik lang nila nang ng pa file ng Funeral / Death Claim.. I experienced so BAd sa service nila.. Di ba sila Service Oriented, Di naman namin hinihingi yung claim namin namin, Pinag hirapan naman yung ng mga members….hay!!!!!!

Iwas filed Death Claim last Aug 2008, and tagal na process kasi pinabablik balik lang nung Staff si (richell), di sinsabi agad yung mga gagawin, pa isa isa, kaya naka ilang bese ako bumalik ng Antipolo, i wasted my time and money muna bago ma claim yung kakaunting pera na dapat naman talaga ibigay sa naiwan ng miyembro ng SSS..

Kaya di umasenso ang Pinas Dahil na din sa mga Government Satff na mabagal mg trabaho, mga kasiraan ng mga Big boss ng Government agencies….Malasakit man lang sana
