‘Oh,’ she says, ‘just take me someplace expensive.’ So he drops her off at the petrol station.

This one came from Rocks of God’s Best Gift. The rules are simple. Write down a selfless and priceless wish for Christmas, one that money can’t buy and will surely be worth a treasure for others. Post it in your blog with the photo below and that’s it!

1. Bits and Pieces by Jan: I wish Gino and I will be able to convince friends to help us sponsor a simple Christmas party for the children of White Cross Children’s Home in San Juan.
2. The Wifey Diaries by Jannesse: My birthday falls on the 22nd of December. I have always wished to spend it with orphaned or abandoned kids. I’d be super happy to spend my birthday with them. That way, they get early Christmas presents from me. Oh, and can I wish for a baby, too? Please?
3. The Versoza Inc. by Con: I’d like to have a simple Christmas party for all the children of our employees. Times were hard on our company this 2007, but still, the Christmas Spirit should not be overpowered by it. Christmas is about family. So our Christmas party should not be for employees only, but for their families as well. Also, I wish our clan would make it a tradition to have a Christmas gift giving project. My Tita Doi started it last year with the Antipolo church children. I am looking forward to this year
4.Jengspeaks by Jeng: Every Christmasm time, our group Friends Empowered to Serve would solicit money, clothes, food, etc. to give to our chosen charities such as Anawim, PGH Chilrdren’s ward and the street children of Manila. This year, we hope to be able to give more and add the families along the pier in our list of recipients. We also want to give the children there a simple Christmas party with food, games and gifts.
5. God’s best gift by Rocks ; Every December we have christmas party for our “children of hope” ministry, this year we will do it again, and my wish is beside the games and the food, I wish we could give the family of each kid a grocery bag, something they can cook for christmas eve, hoping we could get more sponsors so we can give them that.
6. Abelle of Only in Silence - It has always been my dream to help others by volunteering to some special charity projects like The Kapuso Foundation here in the Philippines. I already filled up the form and sent it via email. I just wish I get a call from them on their next project so I can help, at least, with the packing of the relief goods for those in need and school materials for the children. I always wanted to do small things that I know will surely make a big difference.
So what are your Christmas wishes, Jasmine, MJ, Cold Silence and every earthling in the whole world wide web! ![]()
It’s a bit late for this post, but I’ll post it anyway
Here in the Philippines, we celebrate Linggo ng Wika (Language Week) in August and schools never fail to organize programs celebrating it.
My son’s school had its program last Saturday, August30, and here are some photos I shot.
Just before we leave the house . . . . .

At school while waiting for the program to start . . . . .

The ladies and the gentlemen . . . . .

For all the Filipinos who are not here in the Philippines, I know you miss these kinds of programs back when we were the participants. And to the non-Filipino visitors and readers, here’s a little bit of what we have here in the Philippines . . . . .
Different traditional Filipino costumes

Well, that’s about it. I hope you enjoy though my photos are so amateurly shot. Those are taken from my camera phone. And by the way, Jeff’s class got the 1st prize! They sang and danced Waray Waray, a Visayan folk song

The Bug Zoo
The ants are a people not strong, yet they prepare their food in the summer. - Proverbs30:25
A bug zoo in Philadelphia with more than 100,000 live insects entertain 75,000 visitors a year. The Insectarium’s founder and proprietor says, ‘I’ve got a million more bugs still in storage.’ He points to boxes, cookie tins and other containers piled floor-to-ceiling, filled with dead bugs from around the globe. Movies, holograms, microscopes and games keep people of all ages occupied. There’s even a scale to weigh yourself in ladybugs, fireflies and other creatures.
In Proverbs30, a wise man named Agur also showcases insects and other small creatures. He calls them small but very wise.
Look at the ant. He’s weak, but his Creator has taught him to use whatever strength he has to prepare for the future. Consider the locust. He has no king, but when his numbers multiply, God has taught him how to line up and move as one. Look at the spider. He too is a lowly creature, but by using the ability God gives him, he rises to high places.
Do you sometimes feel small and insignificant like an insect? When you do, remember that God showcases His wisdom and greatness through even the smallest things. That’s because His ’strength is made perfect in weakness’ (2Cor.12:9). - Mart De Haan
Inadequate but mighty - How strange, yet wholly true;
Weak men endued with power, The Lord’s blest work shall do. - Bosch
God’s wisdome is given to those who humbly ask Him for it.

Actually, it’s ‘so many visitors, too little space’. And I’m referring to my bandwidth limit. This blog has just been created few months ago – February to be exact. So I just purchased a personal plan – just enough for a starting blog.
Last month, due to large amount of traffic, mostly from Stumble Upon, I exceeded my BW limit. So I immediately contacted my host and they were kind enough to provide additional (and very large) ‘space’ for me to get by until my BW resets. And they did it for free! Then this month, less than a week after it reset, I already consumed more than 50%! Though I was thinking of upgrading my account, I decided to just purchase additional BW for now. I contacted them again and told them my concern. This time, I got not only additional space, but a big discount as well. Thank you so much, Mabuhay Hosting!
I am so happy with my webhost and with the way things are going with this blog. As of this writing, I consumed 98% already, and my account resets every 2nd of each month. So people, if this site goes down on the next few days, please be patient. This is because my webhost has done me so many favors that I don’t want to bug them again. Besides, Sept02 is just a few days away. Though I’m hoping not to reach the limit again (and I’m crossing my fingers as well as my eyes), I am prepared should that happen (teary eyed
). And if it really does happen, please miss me, because I’m going to miss you, people ![]()
Just one of the oldies but goodies . . . . .
Three men, German, Japanese and Mexican, were sitting naked in a sauna. Suddenly, there was a beeping sound. The German pressed his forearm and the beep stopped. The others looked at him questioningly. ‘That was my pager’, he said, “I have a microchip under the skin of my arm.’
A few minutes later, a phone rang. The Japanese fellow lifted his palm to his ear. When he finished, he explained, ‘That was my mobile phone. I have a microchip in my hand.’
The Mexican felt decidedly low tech, but not to be outdone, he decided he had to do something just as impressive. He stepped out of the sauna and went to the bathroom. He returned with a piece of toilet paper hanging from his butt. The others raised their eyebrows and stared at him.
The Mexican finally said . . . . . ‘Ay Dios Mio!!!!! Will you look at that? I’m getting a fax . . . . .’

This one is from my collection again. This goes out to the people who think they have made the right choices, but in reality, they are just one of the people described below. This is true for the younger earthlings who can’t tell right from wrong, reality from fantasy and real love from infatuation. Try to understand what is written here, then reflect. Is it really love you’re clinging to right now . . . . ?

Somebody once told me that ‘Finding the right person is very hard and very wrong. It is best to be the right person for the one you love and start from there. You’ll always end up disappointed when you set standards and define a ‘right person’ for you. And don’t rush things . . . . . ‘coz somewhere somehow, God is preparing somebody for you’.
It’s really hard to say goodbye though, but you can’t make it any better by just pretending you still have the same feelings. Try to let go and give yourself a chance to live life to the fullest. Give yourself a chance to grow and give your heart a much needed attention. Then you will find that you have made the right decision and you made it all by yourself. More frequently than not, we all act in a hypocritical manner for some reason.
We call it love when we can’t leave someone and see them crying as we try to let go. We are wrong, it’s just pity.
We call it love when we’re too attached and think that losing the one we love will somehow make us weak and unable to face the storms of life. We misunderstood, it’s just that we’re too much dependent to them.
We call it love when we give our whole life to them, the wholeness of us and imagined that if they leave, no one would accept us and our past. We are mistaken, it’s just insecurity.
But no matter what the definition is, the truth still remains that love isn’t something you can buy nor beg. It is real and existing. You can’t touch it but you can feel it in your heart. You can’t find it, but it will knock before you when you least expect it to come. It can make you the happiest soul in heaven, but don’t forget that it also can make you the most miserable person in the whole galaxy.

Late last year, when I decided to get my own domain, it wasn’t easy for me to decide which webhosting service to get. I spent months googling and bloghopping just to find which ones really offer good service. This is because I don’t want to end up purchasing a domain name and a webhosting package and end up scratching my head while saying ‘Now what?’
I started blogging using the free Blogger and WordPress services for both my old blogs. I knew little of the codes and how to make some things work, and I must admit that until now, there are a lot to be learned. And I’m so happy I found the excellent service I just so badly need with my webhost, which I’ve been mentioning to you on my previous posts, and also which I would highly recommend if you are interested. But for now, let me send you over to this webhosting review site if you want to see many choices. And for some tips for choosing a domain, too! Enjoy browsing!
