It has been a busy Sunday. My son and I went grocery shopping late in the afternoon and watched The (not so) Incredible Hulk. I saw the trailer last month and I didn’t like it, but since Jeff said ‘Pleeeaaasseee’, who am I to say no?

Then we went out for dinner last night. A mother and son dinner date. Nothing special. It wasn’t even planned. We just like ‘What’s for dinner?’ and decided to go out. We only had burgers and fries and chicken . . . . . just the usual. But the bonding is great! I told him that his father and I decided that we’re raising his allowance starting July and he was all smile the whole evening. Every time I looked at him he was grinning. And when he caught me staring, he will just laugh.

Then this morning, we went to his ENT doctor for his regular check up. As you know, Jeff has large tonsils and we visit his doctor every 4 months for ‘monitoring’. Well, the tonsils are still large, but they are not candidate for tonsillectomy. We just have to watch out for infections, as this may trigger complications. Anyway, we’ll be back to his clinic again on November.

And these are the reasons why I haven’t posted for days. Am I forgiven, people?

Happy Father’s Day, Pa!

Posted by: abelle   in the life of an ordinary earthling

What more can I ask for?

This is my husband, Dario. A very responsible and loving father and partner. He doesn’t smoke, doesn’t get himself drunk (he only drinks up to 2 bottles of beer and only during an occasion), always gives what’s best for us. He never runs out of jokes and stories to tell, always has time for me & Jeff even if he is far from us, still surprises me with boxes of chocolates and flowers after all these years (the usual dozen red roses ;) ). And when he’s here, he helps me with the dishes and we do the laundry together, which oftentimes leads to us sprinkling water to each other and laughing. He is one of the few men who still hold their wife’s hand in public, and is not shy of giving me a kiss in front of others. And how I adore watching him giving our son a bath, just like when Jeff was still small.

With him, I found the meaning of contentment and true happiness. He is a HUSBAND, a PARTNER, a FRIEND, a FATHER to our son. So what more can I ask for . . . . ?

1. my own website (done on Feb02)

2. digital camera

3. new pair of pants (at least 2) (done yesterday)

4. a pair of sandals/shoes

5. a pair of shorts

6. skirt (done on Feb01)

7. TV rack (done on Apr30)

8. office table (to replace our PC table) (I don’t think I’ll be needing this for now; we already had an alternative)

9. computer monitor (to replace the one I am using now which is having near death experience)

Back to School

Posted by: abelle   in the life of an ordinary earthling

It’s Jeff’s first day in school and he’s now in 5th grade! My husband and I took him to school this morning and before we left, we heard Jeff and his friends talked about the NBA finals. Have a successful 5th grade, son! ;)

Kung Fu Panda Awesomeness

Posted by: abelle   in the life of an ordinary earthling

Dario, Jeff and I watched the movie Kung Fu Panda today. We really had a good laugh seeing it. The movie was funny. I suggest you see it too. ;)

Everyone’s out for swimming!!!!!

These are some of the shots we had yesterday at La Vista Resort in Balanga, Bataan.

the big banga (jar) inside La Vista where 2 long slides to the pool are waiting

the tree house which overlooks Mt. Samat and the cross

‘The Wave’ pool, one of La Vista’s attraction is this mechanically operated pool for an experience of big water wave.

That’s my husband on the left with my brothers-in-law playing poker.

That’s Jeff enjoying swimming solo.

That’s it for now, people!

A very busy Thursday and Friday, guys. Let me update you.

In my other blog, I made a ‘must have list for 2008’. Here’s the update of the said list:

1. my own website (done on Feb02)

2. digital camera

3. new pair of pants (at least 2)

4. a pair of sandals/flat shoes

5. shorts

6. skirt (done on Feb01)

7. TV rack (done yesterday, Apr30)

8. office table (to replace our PC table) (I don’t think I’ll be needing this for now; we already had an alternative)

9. computer monitor (to replace the one I am using now which is having near death experience)

10. (I’m still thinking)

Then today, My husband and I bought a new TV set and it’s oh so beautiful! A black Sony Wega. And everything matches - the home theater system he bought me, the entertainment rack and the TV set - a perfect match! It’s as if they were bought together. They compliment each other well, especially the color. I really love them! I also love this executive chair I’m sitting on right now! ;)

And by the way, another blog to check out is a blog of a yummy mummy who, like me, just got a little surprise too from her husband. (Nice watch Chris! Post the new one soon, please.) Why ‘yummy’ and why ‘mummy’? It’s for you to find out!

Bye for now, people! We’re going to watch some movies together. I’m so excited! ;)

Today is a very special Tuesday. It is my husband’s 35th birthday (or 33rd as he wants me to say it – at least when he’s around. Haha!) We just stayed here in our house. But I gave him a little surprise. I had my grandma cooked his favorite dish – Kare-kare (a very delicious Filipino dish). Then I asked my younger sister to buy 2 trays of carbonara for tonight. We will be going out tomorrow to enroll our son and buy things he will be using in school, and have a little date too ;)

Another exciting thing that happened today is that the home theater system he bought for me has been delivered! I thought he was just joking, but here they are! Tomorrow, we are going buy a bigger TV rack that will accommodate the set of speakers of this awesome unit. He’s also buying me a new executive chair for me to use when I’m here in front of the PC and working ;)

So, to the man who is always full of surprises, to the man who never gets tired of doing wonderful things for me and for our son all these years, to my husband . . . . . a very happy birthday to you, Papa! Jeff and I love you so much.

Yes, I am so happy today! My husband is now on board a flight to Manila and we are picking him up this afternoon at the airport. Our son is preparing a little welcome banner for him. He said he wants to surprise his father with it.

I am already done preparing his things here. Everything is in order now. Last night, as we were chatting, he asked for sinigang na baboy (a famous Filipino dish) for dinner. Right now, I am just taking a coffee break. I’m making some final touches here in our room.

Oh, man! Our son and I are really so excited to embrace him again! I am ecstatic, happy, excited! And so is our son, Jeff. The three of us will be watching a movie together next week, and some more other things. We are not wasting any time of the entire 51 days Dario is here.

By the way, if you want to join some contests and win some cool prizes and free cash online, check out pwengbee.com. This guy knows just where everything is happening around the web, contest-wise. So, if you want to try out your luck, visit his website.

Talk to you again later, people! ;)

Tuesday Toot#5 - 04.22.08

Posted by: abelle   in tuesday toot

Here’s my toot for the week.

Yesterday, Jeff and I went to the ENT doctor for his check up. Good news: he’s not undergoing tonsillectomy for there is a chance that Jeff outgrows his tonsils (they are quite large for his age).

Another thing is I’m done with my assignments – I had the aircon installed, finished cleaning the house and bought some more clothes for my husband. Dario’s flight to Manila is tomorrow and we’re picking him up from the airport on Thursday afternoon. Now, our room looks fresh when he arrives.

Happy tooting! ;)
