Aaaahhhh . . . . . I had a very tiring day. It was very hot outside.
I went to the DSWD office today to ask for a social case study report. Then I proceeded to Quezon City Hall to get the certificate from the treasurer’s office. They are two of the requirements needed for the renewal of my son’s ID he uses at St. Luke’s. I’ll get the rest done next week.
I also went to Philhealth office in Quezon Avenue to pay the premium for the second quarter of 2008. Then went to the mall for a stroll . . . . . and window shopping!
That’s mission (partially) accomplished! 
Today was just an ordinary day. I woke up with morning breath and my eyes full of muta (I don’t know what’s that called in English, but we call it muta in Filipino – you know the thing that lurks in the dark and before you knew it, it has taken over the little space in your eyes where your tears fall?) Anyway, I went on my usual routine – washed my face, gargled, got a cup of coffee, went back to my room, turned the PC on and checked my emails.
Today was just an ordinary day . . . . . or so I thought.
As I logged in to my blog to post about my newly found identity, I was surprised when I noticed a new link in the ‘Incoming Links’ section in my Dashboard. I clicked on it thinking that it was just a link from a site that I left a comment previously. It was, but not as I expected. The link said ‘Winner of Drawings – March26, 2008’ and it took me to the site where I left a comment yesterday. This was what I found out:
I won the Graphics Package and this blog is going to be pretty! So as directed, I emailed Marie, the host of the contest, to claim the prize. I am just waiting for her response.
Meanwhile, I have been asking around for some help with my little problem here. Under the category ‘the life of an ordinary earthling‘, I have 18 posts including this one. But when I click on it, it only shows 10 posts and I can’t see a ‘previous entries‘ link at the bottom. Why is that? Can anyone tell me how to fix this? I hope someone provides me with a step by step procedure because I am not well-versed with codes. Thanks so much, guys!
Update: The little problem I was talking about has just been fixed tonight. Thanks to Ivan of Mabuhay Hosting Philippines.
No more assignments. No more late night reviews for the exams. No more early morning alarms to wake us up. No more preparing of my son’s lunch box. No more travel to and from school.
It’s summer vacation already! Yeheeyyy!
Right now, the only thing I have to take care of is our next visit to his doctor for a check up, and that will be on Monday. Then we will know when he is going to be scheduled for tonsillectomy (Jeff has large tonsils – the reason why he snores at sleep). And my husband won’t be home until next month. So I have time to relax a bit more. And that is the most exciting news for me at the moment.

Though I have been blogging for a year now, I am very sure that every pro blogger will definitely refer to me as ‘kid’. This blog, under my own domain, has just been launched last month as my gift to my 31st birthday and I am very proud of this one. I consider having my own site as one of my little accomplishments in life. Yes, you may laugh and others may think, ‘Abelle, you’re so shallow!’ But sometimes, it’s my patting my own back that makes me smile, and laugh, like nobody’s looking. (Actually, sometimes there was nobody, because my son was in school and everybody’s downstairs )
I haven’t perfected yet the art of blogging and there are a lot more that I have to learn - making quality content, getting a decent rank and all. And until now, I find it hard to get some codes working. I wanted so much to have my own header as part of my ‘branding’, as well as some banners and buttons so it will be easier to promote my blog. I know there are websites out there that can help me with this, but I don’t want to spend some money for things that I know I can’t do – I don’t know how to play around the codes in my header and I’m afraid I might mess it up. But I know someone can help me with this. I’m talking about the prize CelebratingWomensDay.com is giving away. I am entering the contest today because I wanted so much to make this blog different and succeed. With the help of that Graphics Package I’m eyeing, I know I can make it.
This is my first time and I hope I get this right.
I’m talking about the Tuesday Toot meme of MommyCommunity.com. So what have I accomplished so far? Well, Jeff’s final exams are scheduled yesterday until tomorrow. That means we have been reviewing his notes since Sunday until tonight. This explains why I haven’t posted anything here in the last two days. Right now, Jeff and I are taking few minutes break to re-energize ourselves for the next round, of review, that is. School year ends tomorrow and summer vacation is on its way and we are so excited. Next week, we will be going back to St. Luke’s Medical Center for his check up. We will know by then when he will be scheduled for tonsillectomy. And this probably will be the next thing I’m tooting about, so until the next toot!
The past few days, I’ve been too busy to write anything here and in my other blogs. I’ve been busy bloghopping here and there, looking for those little buttons everybody’s putting on their websites. The result? I was able to list this site to some blog directories out there, and even made new friends in some blog networks. I am also drafting something to put on my ‘About the author’ page so you will be able to get a clearer view of who I am and what I do. Hopefully, I get all these done while my husband is away for work. He won’t be home until Friday so I have lots of time in my hand right now. Plus, I have to get more things done here because our son’s exams will be on Thursday and Friday. That means we will be preparing and reviewing notes by Wednesday – translation: little time for myself again. So just bear with me, guys. I’m still trying to make this site beautiful.

And what are my biggest accomplishments so far? Hmmm, let’s see . . . . .
1. I have a very sexy husband (hmmm, yummy, isn’t he? ) Though he works abroad and is not here to celebrate with us, YM and webcam is enough. 
2. Our son, who calls himself ‘TEN-ager’ because of his age (he’s TEN years old) and is as handsome as his Papa. He is in a good private school, into sports and very sweet.
3. I have my own website already (yehey!)
4. Friends! Thanks for all your wishes - Anna, Imee, Shiella, Hedy, Maricel, Ellie and Remy.
5. A very close family - Lola, Mama, my 2 sisters, uncles, aunts and cousins.
I can go on listing the people dear to me and some material things that I have, but the bottom line is God is so good that He blesses me with so many wonderful things and adding another year to my life!
